Norwegian examples for Romanian social services

On 26th of March, Caritas Romania released the report "Norway - Romania – a comparative analysis on the financing and provision of social services". The event is part of the project "NGOs stronger together" and brought together experts in the field of social services and civil society representatives from Romania and Norway. They addressed the issue of a coherent policy for financing social services in Romania.

The main goal of the analysis is to identify elements and approaches of providing and funding social services in Norway, with learning potential in formulating public policies of funding social services in Romania. In this context the focus has been on designing a friendly framework for the development of the NGO sector in Romania.

The substance of the analysis is given by learnings from presentations, deep interviews, discussions and experiences during a study visit in Norway and reasearch in Romania. The discussions are presented in detail so each reader should be able to "take a seat" at these meetings.

The meetings with persons and institutions from Norway considered to be relevant for the project purpose where prepared by the Norwegian partner of the project, Caritas Norway and included among others the Norwegian Church Aid, Frivillighet Norge, City of Oslo, Church City Mission Norway and a member of Parliament.
